Blue Collar Comedy Tour 3-Pack

Specifications

It had to happen: A national tour of redneck comedians culminating in this frequently funny concert film, shot in Phoenix. Ron White's scotch-and-tobacco-fueled, fatalistic world view gets things off to a good start. ("That last engine had just enough power to get us to our crash site.") Larry the Cable Guy's creepy-silly persona helps deliver a set long on gross-out humor. ("I've been seein' a good-lookin' girl. But now I lost my binoculars.") Bill Engvall balances the tone with his family-man shtick. ("There needs to be a teenage driver's lane lined with tires and mattresses.") Main event champ Jeff Foxworthy offers fresh material about the act of ice-fishing as an out-of-body experience for fish, describes the bizarre sight of a leaf blower among items confiscated by airport security and, of course, renders his trademark re-re-re-definitions of what constitutes a redneck ("a glorious absence of sophistication"). Lots to enjoy here. --Tom Keogh List Price : $26.99

It's totally the end of the world in Hetalia Axis Powers: Paint it, White! This full-length flick brings all your fave boys together in modern times with one goal: Drop the bro-hammer on some alien invaders!
The Pictorians have arrived from deep in space. They also have dangly glow-balls on their heads, which is kinda cool, but still. The freaky aliens are using use their crazy rainbow-beam-thingy to paint everything on Earth the same color: white! See, now the title of the movie makes more sense, right? Anyway, if the Pictorians are to be stopped, the Allied guys and the Axis boys plus some new characters, too must set aside their differences, unite against their common foe, and hopefully get together for a sweaty work-out to make sure they re super-ready to save the world!

Hetalia - Paint it, White - The Movie (Limited Edition)

Specifications

The theatrical feature Paint It, White! (2010) continues the misadventures of the cast of the series Hetalia: Axis Powers (2009). Various countries of the world are portrayed as teenage boys who alternately squabble and try to work together. They need to concentrate on the latter when the Earth is invaded by the Pictons, featureless aliens who resemble simple CG versions of noppera-buo, the faceless ghosts of Japanese folklore. The Pictons generate multicolored tendrils that bleach Technicolor landscapes into empty expanses of white with a few gray lines. Paint It, White! is no sillier than FLCL, but the characters remain unsympathetic one-notes, and the story careens along at an unvarying pace, interrupted by shots of the logo and the characters saying "Hetalia." Director Bob Shirohata and his crew revel in offensive ethnic stereotypes, although the series was cancelled in Japan when Korean protestors complained about the depiction of the Korea character in the manga version. The filmmakers recycle a lot of footage from the TV series, including the singularly tasteless gag of Italy announcing, "I've got a little surprise for you!" and Germany replying, "What is it, another Jew?" The limited-edition DVD includes a green bandana printed with the characters. (Rated TV MA: profanity, cartoon violence, ethnic stereotypes, alcohol use) --Charles Solomon

Product Description

In profiling Chinese adoptees in contemporary America, this deeply moving documentary from Linda Goldstein Knowlton (The World According to Sesame Street) illustrates that even the most specific of experiences can be universally relatable. Of the roughly 80,000 girls who have been adopted from China since 1989 a decade after China implemented its One Child Policy the film intimately follows four teenagers: Haley, Jenna, Ann and Fang.

These four wise-beyond-their-years yet typical American teens reveal a heartbreaking sense of self-awareness as they attempt to answer the uniquely human question, "Who am I?" They meet and bond with other adoptees, some journey back to China to reconnect with the culture, and some reach out to the orphaned girls left behind. In their own ways, all attempt to make sense of their complex identities. Issues of belonging, race and gender are brought to life through these articulate subjects, who approach life with honesty and open hearts.

Additional bonus disc includes a one-hour companion piece to the film, Beyond Somewhere Between, a deeper exploration of adoption and identity, using interviews with professionals, adult adoptees and unseen footage of the girls.

Star Trek - The Original Crew Movie Collection (Special Edition)

Star Trek - The Original Crew Movie Collection (Special Edition)

Thanks to all customers, the product order with us.

Devoted Star Trek fans will surely cite the "even number" rule in evaluating the Original Crew Movie Collection, but all six of these films qualify as rousing entertainment. Undeniably, the even-numbered films in Paramount's lucrative Trek franchise tended to be the best, as demonstrated by the superiority of The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home, and The Undiscovered Country. And yet each film has something to offer die-hard Trekkers, beginning with the epic-scale wonders of the first Motion Picture (presented here as a two-disc special edition). Evolving from Gene Roddenberry's aborted attempt at a second Star Trek TV series, the effects-laden Motion Picture divided fans while proving that Star Trek had a promising big-screen future. Nicholas Meyer's The Wrath of Khan made good on that promise, reviving the Star Trek spirit and proving, in the case of Mr. Spock, that beloved characters "never really die." It's widely regarded as the best of these half-dozen features.

With its deadly Klingon confrontation, the Leonard Nimoy-directed Search for Spock was a thrilling (albeit contrived) excuse for Spock's inevitable resurrection, and its somber tone was readily countered by the Earth-based humor of Nimoy's The Voyage Home, combining a planetary crisis with a lively--and phenomenally popular--time-travel plot line. Unfortunately, William Shatner then lobbied for the director's chair, and The Final Frontier--an uneasy mixture of cheesy humor and grandiose themes--was the regrettable outcome. Paramount rallied by inviting Nicholas Meyer to repeat his Khan success, and Meyer rose to the occasion with the sharply scripted thrills of The Undiscovered Country. By ending the film with an official signature send-off from the "classic Trek" cast, the original crew brought their big-screen legacy to a graceful and upbeat conclusion, setting the stage for a transitional adventure in Star Trek: Generations. --Jeff Shannon Our Price : $53.98

The YES Movie

The YES Movie

Thanks to all customers, the product order with us.

Enjoying his fast paced, opulent, enlightened life, successful young entrepreneur, Louis Lautman's curiosity and fascination of business achievement at a young age ultimately launched him on a cross country journey to seek out and interview the world's most successful young millionaire minds and entrepreneurs to discover and expose "The Secret" behind their success.

Lautman, age 30, knew from his own experience in business that many young entrepreneurs still struggled and was committed to sharing the strategies these young geniuses lived by to create a thriving life of prosperity, wealth and abundance at a young age.

Like every hero, Louis was thrown into crisis as he was presented with the astounding fact that the fundamental premises that ran his life were untrue. The "reality" of how young people are supposed to grow up; the "belief" that after high school you go to college; and the "fact" that if you work hard and long at your job you will get ahead- are all shown to be habitual mental constructs that limit life and induce a slow-moving, apathetic, tedious, commonly lack filled reality. He saw the trap and wanted to show the world a new way through demonstrating nine key secrets.

His panel of experts serves as a modern day Greek Chorus, whose anecdotes and experiences of starting and running their extraordinarily successful businesses at a very young age are woven through the plot as important lessons young entrepreneurs need to learn in order to understand and change their life. The YES Movie experts answer the great questions of life constructed by both young and older business people. Through the course of the film, the distinction between business and personal life becomes increasingly synergistic as we realize that, in essence, both business and personal life must support each other.

A master at business networking, Lautman having assembled more than 30 Young Millionaire Entrepreneur's to sit down with him and share the amazing stories of their success is unprecedented. They each detailed how they took their idea from concept to reality and how they overcame all of the challenges along the way. Each of these experts serves as a sounding board for young entrepreneurs across the globe. Their products and services have touched the lives of millions and now their inspiring stories will as well in this dynamic film.

The Beatles - Let It Be (Movie)

The Beatles - Let It Be (Movie)

Thanks to all customers, the product order with us.

While becoming superstar musicians the Beatles also managed to make several movies along the way. Let It Be was to be a making-of movie about their writing and recording processes. With cameras rolling every step of the way, the group soon realized that their previously successful and prolific songwriting and recording methods were not going to translate well to the big screen. In-fighting and arguing plagued the sessions to a point where the foursome split up and Phil Spector was called in to organize the wealth of recorded material into an album for release. A highlight of the film (other than the music) is a performance of the group on the roof of their Apple Corps headquarters on Saville Row on January 30, 1969 which turned out to be their last together. The police interrupting the performance and the shots of the crowds on the street and nearby rooftops are oft-repeated elements still in use in music video and concert films today. Our Price :

It is the culmination of a blood-thirsty battle between the vampires and their mortal enemies, the werewolves. Stars: Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbor, My Life Without Me), Scott Speedman (My Life Without Me, TV's Felicity).

Underworld: Evolution

The saga continues as the battle rages on between the death dealers (vampires) & the lycans (werewolves) in this fast-paced modern-day tale of deadly action ruthless intrigue & forbidden love all leading to the battle to end all wars as the immortals finally face their retribution.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans delves into the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires, known as Death Dealers, and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). A young Lycan, Lucian (Michael Sheen), emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has persecuted them for hundreds of years. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, the beautiful vampire Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle to free the Lycans from their brutal enslavement.

Underworld Trilogy (Underworld / Underworld: Evolution / Underworld: Rise of the Lycans)

Specifications

Underworld

Blade meets The Crow and The Matrix in Underworld, a hybrid thriller that rewrites the rulebook on werewolves and vampires. It's a "cuisinart" movie (blend a lot of familiar ideas and hope something interesting happens) in which immortal vampire "death dealers" wage an ancient war against "Lycans" (werewolves), who've got centuries of revenge--and some rather ambitious genetic experiments--on their lycanthropic agenda. Given his preoccupation with gloomy architecture (mostly filmed in Budapest, Hungary), frenetic mayhem and gothic costuming, it's no surprise that first-time director Len Wiseman gained experience in TV commercials and the art departments of Godzilla, Men in Black, and Independence Day. His work is all surface, no substance, filled with derivative, grand-scale action as conflicted vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale, who later became engaged to Wiseman) struggles to rescue an ill-fated human (Scott Speedman) from Lycan transformation. It's great looking all the way, and a guaranteed treat for horror buffs, who will eagerly dissect its many strengths and weaknesses. --Jeff Shannon

Underworld: Evolution
Better action, a bit of sex, and gorier R-rated violence make Underworld: Evolution a reasonably satisfying sequel to 2003's surprise hit Underworld. Looking stunning as ever in her black leather battle gear, Kate Beckinsale is every goth guy's fantasy as Selene, the vampire "death dealer" who's now fighting to stop the release of the original "Lycan" werewolf, William (Brian Steele) from the prison that's held him for centuries. As we learn from the film's action-packed prologue, William and his brother Marcus (Tony Curran) began the bloodline of vampires and werewolves, and after witnessing centuries of warfare between them, their immortal father Corvinus (Derek Jacobi) now seeks Selene and the human vampire/lycan hybrid Michael (Scott Speedman) to put an end to the war perpetuated by Victor (Bill Nighy), the vampire warrior whose betrayal of Selene turns Underworld: Evolution into an epic tale of familial revenge. This ambitious attempt at Shakespearean horror is compromised by a script (by Danny McBride and returning director Len Wiseman, Beckinsale's real-life husband) that's more confusing than it needs to be, with too many characters and not enough storytelling detail to flesh them all out. Aspiring to greatness and falling well short of that goal, Underworld: Evolution succeeds instead as a full-throttle action/horror thriller, with enough swordplay, gunplay, and CGI monsters to justify the continuation of the Underworld franchise. If you're an established fan, this is a must-see movie; if not, well... at least it's better than Van Helsing! --Jeff Shannon

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

This prequel to Len Wiseman’s Underworld and Underworld: Evolution is distinctively different, especially minus the nimble vampire warrior star, Selene (Kate Beckinsale). Underworld: Rise of the Lycans takes its cues from the vampire/werewolf battles that occur in the other films, but director Patrick Tatopoulos focuses here on the young werewolf Lucian's (Michael Sheen) rise to leadership. Rise of the Lycans is set mostly within the walls of vampire lord Viktor’s (Bill Nighy) castle, so the film’s silver, black, and blue palette reflects a world happening under moonlight. From the outset, when Viktor brings Lucian, the first werewolf, into the world, this villainous bloodsucker’s daughter, Sonja (Rhona Mitra), is smitten with Lucian’s hairy appearance and instinctual intelligence. As years pass, Lucian grows tired of watching his race suffer slavery and imprisonment, and recruits a human named Raze (Kevin Grevioux) to assist rebellion. This archetypal plot is not so riveting, and what carries Underworld: Rise of the Lycans are the battle scenes between vampires and werewolves, which are excitingly fast-paced and brutal. The whole film adopts a medieval battlefield aesthetic that carries an otherwise clichéd story about illicit love and freedom fighting. Some characters, like the traitor vampire Tannis (Steven Mackintosh), also intrigues throughout, as one guesses who he will ally with. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans may not be the finest film in the werewolf and vampire archives independently, but its mixed monstrosity makes it unique and entertaining, especially on a big screen. --Trinie Dalton
